HELP! Japanese Party for 40!!

  • h
  • 4

I have to coordinate a 40 people welcome dinner party (clients from Japan) early next week. Our budget is $30 (including tip and tax), but we want it to be super cute since a lot of them have never been to NY! We are hoping to do the party around Midtown East.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions!

Thanks so much!!!!

  1. You can easily do Japanese, but I don't think that is what you want. How about the Alamo on 48th?

The hostess bars are also nearby. But they will go for more than $30 a person for sure....

      1. Isn't America closed and a Rosa Mexicano branch there now?

        1. 'Super cute'?? I am not sure about that, nor about $30 pp (I assume you don't mean $30 for 40 people). If you have a space, you might consider catering from Oms/b. I have some experience with Japanese clients and associates and have been surprised at their preference for Japanese food in NYC (Megu, Kai etc). I think for your budget, number of people, and geography, you should probably do a catered buffet or passed hors d'oeuvres at your office or another location to which you have access (perhaps as a corporate member of a cultural organization).
