Warm chocolate lava cake............OMG

Kitchen Queen Sep 2, 2006 05:38 AM

S.O. took me to the Charthouse Malibu tonight - A proper proposal dinner...We came here for Valentines Day as well and forgot how incredible this place is. The clam chowder, the VIEW, and man o man that warm chocolate lava cake. If nothing else, come here to soak in the sunset, have that lava cake and a rich cup of coffee. It's the sexiest dessert around! A bit of heaven for sure! And tonight, I even left with a magnificent engagement ring on my finger! :) KQ

Congratulations, ring AND great chocolate cake sounds like the beginning of something wonderful. Good for you.

Congratulations! But really, how bad would the cake have to be for you to not enjoy it the night you got engaged! ;)

        Congrats!

I went to Charthouse in Malibu for father's day a few years back and still I have shivers thinking of the Warm Chocolate Lava cake.

I love how you have to order it at the same time as your entree, cause it means your committed to it, even if you eat too much your first 2 courses.

You also have to early-order the same at Grand Luxe Cafe.

          Congratulations!

          Congratulations! :)

They have similar one at Roy's. That one's worthy of an OMG as well....

Wow -- since a few people confirmed the OMG I guess I gotta try too (so many places offer variants of the chocolate molten/lava/ganache cake it's hard to decipher where the really good ones are.)

My personal fave so far is Susina's -- pop it in the mike for 30 seconds... UMMM MMMM!!!

Better yet - buy the mix from William-Sonoma to be the author of your own decadent version!
