Soho Lunch Oasis Needed

Cooooooooper Sep 2, 2006 02:39 AM

Can anyone recommend a spot with a laid-back atmosphere for a decent break from shopping? I may be with my wife after hitting the stores with her or with a male buddy trying to sneak from shopping with the women. Either way, a decent beer menu will be manditory. Bistro fare or gourmet pub-style food would be sure to hit the spot.

Sounds like you don't need anything too fancy, in which case, Fanelli's, on the corner of Prince & Mercer might be just the ticket. One of the oldest pubs in the city, it has a good assortment of beer and standard pub fare (not gastropub).

The Broome St. Bar on the SE corner of Broome and W. Broadway is another good option. Not as venerable as Fanelli's but good drinks, burgers, chili, sandwiches (especially the BLT), etc. and very reasonably priced.

Also, try Milady's on the corner of Prince & Thompson. Pretty much a dive bar (yet, a hip one at times) with surprisingly good food.

Go to Kelly and Pings for some serious Asian cuisine at a very decent price. Greene St. Ichiban baby!

I like the Cafe at the Cub Room. When you walk in the door, walk through what seems like the restaurant and to your left. It's on Sullivan and Prince.
