Headed to Giuseppe's in Phoenix tonight

Friday is Fresh Pasta Night at Giuseppe's in Phoenix (28th St & Indian School) and we're on our way to dinner. I'm toying with the Gorgonzola sauced gnocchi and DH often orders the Carbonara. Crossing my fingers there is also melon & prosciutto because the melons are always sweet and perfectly ripe. We're taking a bottle of Turnbull 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon and looking forward to a delicious meal. Yum!

Yep, Giuseppe's sure has tanked. Used to get takeout spaghetti - the meatballs had little cloves of garlic stuffed inside - what love! But alas, no more. Then the meatballs were overripe. Emailed proprietor, he apologized but no restitution. Last time, I agree with eggplant - too thin; dry & bready - and the sauce was oversalted/noodles waaaay overdone... closing at odd hours... sorry to say I think he's not going to make it. Hope he gets the love back.

I've had two dinners and a lunch at Giuseppe's, and, I have to say that I rate them just slightly above average.

My last dinner, I had the eggplant parm. The eggplant was sliced so thin, its flavor was really overpowered by the breading, AND the salty red sauce. I would not order it again.

I hope you have better luck.
