Banana Nut Ice Cream

I discovered this summer in Canada that Hagan Daz makes a wonderful version of this. Not made in US. Does anyone have any Manhattan suggestions as to any other maker/provider/seller?

  1. Manhattan Fruitier makes a Banana Lace ice cream that is to die for.

    1. The first place I ever encountered Banana Nut was at Baskin-Robbins, and it is my father's all-time favorite flavor. B-R has consigned it to being a "regional flavor," which means that individual locations can choose to carry it. Beggging and pleading can occasionally help.

      1. Thanks Dave, I called two of the five or six BRs in Manhattan and they responded as if I was asking for something like salmon-elk ice cream. "Never heard of banana nut". Any specific loactions open to begging and pleading?

        1. Gee, I'm afraid the requests were made in Los Angeles more than a decade ago. I just went to the B-R website and noticed that Banana Nut was lumped in with another old fave of mine, lemon custard, as a regional flavor:

I'd go to the oldest standalone location I could find where you live -- I've found they actually have managers who know a little about the ice cream. The combo Dunkin' Donuts/B-R locations don't.
