Note that it's a small doorway and you have to go downstairs.

Hmmm, it has been eons since I've reported on Kam Lok and its yee mein (lobster and otherwise).

I was back there for lunch last week, and once again the non-greasy yee mein dish with spongy, chewy, flavor absorbing noodles was the star. This time with shreds of dried scallop, enoki mushroom and yellow leeks. Delectable. And with apologies to JK, my fault that he didn't have enough scallop flavor. My serving off the top had too much. Shoulda tossed it a bit. Whoops.

Thanks for the report. I always thought Kam Lok marked a giant step forward for Chinese food in the U.S. in the late 1970s. I remember Angelinos used to flock up to SF Chinatown to eat there. Hard to believe in today's environment.

That's my recollection too. A live seafood specialist at the time. Very choice vegetables. Much closer to Hong Kong style than Chinatown had seen before.
