Ottawa - Vittoria Trattoria

Harry Singh Sep 1, 2006 03:41 PM

I’ll be visiting Ottawa this weekend for a few nights. I am thinking about going to Vittoria Trattoria Saturday evening. Does anyone have any comments/suggestions regarding the food or the ambience at this restaurant? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

      Hi there,

This is an okay restaurant. It has a lovely dark, cozy atmosphere and a HUGE (if somewhat overpriced - 300% markups in some cases) wine list. The food is hit and miss. My unidentifiable stuffed pasta dish was really salty and mushy. My husband's pizza was not as good as when they had a true pizza aioli (sorry for possible bad spelling) when he went to Carleton. Oh yeah, the service is hilarious. It is attentive, but really for a glorified pizzeria, I don't think we needed the table to be crumbed, nor my napkin refolded when I went to the loo - the five star service just didn't match the two or three star nature of the place. However, it was nice to be pampered.

      Hope this helps!

Ambience is definitely nice, cozy, romantic. Food is decent, but nothing to write home about. I enjoyed it.
