Where in San Diego can I find Sweet potato candy?
I will only be in town 8/31 to 9/2

Possibly Mitsuwa Marketplace. I know that last weekend I saw some traditional Japanese Yakiimo Wagashi (sweet potato sweets) at the Costa Mesa Branch, although San Diego may not carry them.

    Give it a shot though.

What kind of sweet potato canty are you looking for? I know in Mexico they have the candied camotes as well.

Good suggestion, kare_raisu. I was also going to suggest Nijiya market. You will probably find them in clear celophane bags or perhaps in small "potato chip"-like bags. They will be glazed, sprinkled with sesame seeds, and will be quite small. Does this sound close to what you might be looking for?

I always find them at Chinese markets in the San Francisco area. Cut into long strips, and dried. Seem to be coated with a light dusting of cornstarch or such. Hope that helps.
