LA-style fish tacos in NYC

so i've never had one, but all I know is: deep fried fillets, flour tortilla, cabbage slaw. anyone find these in NYC? I've been looking and came up amiss at various mexican places . . . . thanks all.

Sadly, NYC just can't seem to "get" the Mexican fare that the Los Angelenos have. No flour tortillas--only corn!

Mercadito has some really great ones, though not as super as the ones I've had in Cali.

Bonita on Bedford Ave in Williamsburg comes pretty darn close to the real thing. Decent homemade corn tortillas, the fish nice and crispy, tons of cabbage and a limey crema. They also do that delicious grilled Mexican corn on the cob with chili/lime/butter and cotija. I think its the best Baja-style Mexican in NYC- at least the best I've tasted so far.

The closest I've found is at Rosa Mexicano. Not quite the same but delicious regardless.
