Best Veggie Burger in T.O.

The best I've had is Pulp Kitchen's Meat Lovers. It is incredible and huge. But I'm hoping people can direct me to something even better (and let's forget the obvious, like Lick's, which is okay, but not as good as PK...)

  1. I second PK. I don't know of another that matches. I used to enjoy the one at the Red Devil, but I don't believe they are around anywhere anymore.
Maybe it's too obvious, and not at a restaurant, but the frozen President's Choice veggie burger is very good (and also very high in fat, of course).

the PC lentil and bean patty is suuupergood and super low in fat too!

    2. OK shoot me, but M&M's veg burger (low fat!!!) gets rave reviews from me (a carnivore) and a few of my veggie friends.

I've never tried it - I'll have to now!

I have had M+M's - I think it used to be better than it is now. But it isn't bad. But as a vegetarian, though it's hard when you're in a jam... I try to give my business to veg places only like Pulp Kitchen - and because that burger will fool the most carnivorous carnivore! It is UNBELIEVABLE how great it is!!!!
And if you're going to try it, make sure it's the Meat Lover's burger you order, not any of the others (at least, at first).

Anyway, back to my point. Even though I'll grab lick's on occasion and they after all, are a meat establishment. However, they do a lot to promote veg diet, whereas M+M is a full-blown meat operation and I can't really justify supporting it. Credit to their veggie burger though, it ain't bad.

        2. my fav is licks veg burger. first time i had it, my wife brought it back stating that she got a neat burger instead. (and no she did get a veg burger but the taste was 'right on')

i know tons of people who have had this happen. when my partner got his first he took it back, and the woman he took it back to said that she had done the same thing the first time she tried it.

A general note about Lick's: why is it that I ALWAYS get a lukewarm burger there - even when I'm eating in and have taken it from the counter to the table in 10 seconds? I have even tried to order it well done just to get it hotter, but it doesn't work. I know that they precook all burgers - meat or veg - and when I used to eat meat, the same problem was happening. I think their grill is on too low or something.

It's not just me then. I thought maybe the condiments were too cold and cooled the burger down.

Harvey's veggie burger isn't bad either. When I first tried it, I thought it was meat and spit out my first bite. Then I had hubby taste it to make sure.

          2. I haven't eaten veggie burgers out anywhere, but I like the fact that for my BBQ at home, I can buy Lick's frozen at Dominion. I like them better than the President's choice veggie burgers. Had heard from friends many years ago that the Lick's ones were great for non-veg people's tastes, and they hit the spot for me.

            1. okay, so in terms of veggie burgers, there are many different kinds.. there are the ones made with soy, the ones made with grains and/or nuts, and the ones that are actually like veggies packed really tight. Personally, I like the ones made primarily with real veggies, do any of these places offer that type of veggie burger?

to hungryabbey - Pulp Kitchen has a few kinds of veg burgers - so you might call them to see if one of them is like that. I bet they have one.
