Jim's up to Dispatch #5 on the Features board
His Streak continues, and he may intentionally eat uninspired food just to relieve the monotony of so much deliciousness, I guess. The podcasts are just plain fun, and I feel like I'm really along for the ride. This one takes place in and around "down the shore" in NJ. There's some seriously good BBQ there and POWER STRAWS. Many's the day, I could use a power straw. Great stuff, Jim.

I would love to access Jim's dispatch #5, unfortunately it will not display when I access the Features page (I have posted something about it on the Feedback board).

re: ChinoWayne
Wayne, what happens if you click on the footer on dispatch #4?
fwiw, direct links are:
#5: http://www.chowhound.com/features/show/10011
#6: http://www.chowhound.com/features/sho...-
re: Jim Leff
Right now I am not seeing dispatch #4 or #5, I see #'s 2, 3 and 4, then a big blank space, then 6. I click on the "Next Page" link at the bottom of the page and can see dispatch #1.
I emailed a screen shot in of what I am seeing. Thanks for the direct links, I'll use those to read number 5, can you give me one for number 4 also?
Edited: the link to dispatch 5 above works fine, I get the page with the text, photos and MP3 file links. But I still get a blank area on the Features page when I go there from my browser.
Another edit, I just went away and came back to the Features page, now it is displaying dispatch #4 (4 seems to appear and disappear intermittantly, 5 has never displayed for me).

re: ChinoWayne
Wayne, take a look at the URLs in my posting above. It'll be obvious how to "cheat" to go directly to previour installments.
Not sure why this is happening on your end, but if it's happening to you, it likely is to others, too, so I hope the designers and engineers have a chance to look into the problem. Probably not till after the holiday, though...

I think that in all the years of Chowhound, the "power strawer" may be the most shocking and compelling item I've brought to this community's attention.
It surely deserves inclusion on any list of regional food/drink items, along with beef on weck, prairie oysters, and egg creams.

re: Tatum
Pat, no idea. But wherever it started, it's surely poised to take the world by storm.
Mike, hey, you're the boss! But I definitely vote yes! :)
Not to digress, I wonder why nobody ever serves drinks with Krazy Straws. I'd gladly pay a premium. And a Krazy Power Straw would just be the best (albeit lethal).
