can I do anything with four small tomatillos?

I got four very small tomatillos from my CSA (actually these are what are left over from my friend's picking them up for me while I was on vacation). They are each the size of a ping pong ball or smaller. I have a recipe for a sauce that I like, but this is certainly not enough to make a sauce. Does anyone just *eat them* on their own? Can I combine them with something else? On principle I hate wasting any of my CSA produce--

  1. They have to be cooked, raw they taste bleh...

Since you don't have enough for green salsa, you should add them to a red (using roma tomatoes) since Tomatillos, even small ones offer a great tang... :) I put them in every salsa I make! :)

I do the same... usually roughly a 3:1 ratio of red tomatoes to tomatillos. It gives the salsa a citrus-y flavor and really improves the texture and viscosity of a salsa.

I used them last night; broiled them till soft, then mixed with chopped tomatoes, onion, cilantro and lime juice. oh yeah, plus a little chopped jalepeno. Very nice-- thanks!

    2. Cook and then blend them with some avocado and fresh green chilis for a salsa.

      1. I used to make shrimp tacos with tomatillos, cilantro and shrimp in a decent amount of oil. cook tom. and cil. down in the oil, add shrimp at the last minute (season with s&p). warm corn tortillas in a pan or over your burners. et voila. serve with sour cream or avocado. totally not authentic but fast and good.
