Pierre Ferrand Cognac

I feel bad.

A friend gave me a bottle of Ambre last Christmas. grand Champagne, blend of minimum 10 year old stocks.

I found it to be the worst brandy I ever drank, so harsh that I can't tell you what it tastes like, because I cannot taste anything at all . Nose is alcoholic and petrolly, appearance is clear medium amber.

What's the story? bad bottle? Or just bad brandy?

I am familiar with and enjoy many other spirits including other Cognacs.

  1. You got a bad bottle. It's a very nice cognac. Hey it happens, I have bought quite a few bad bottles of top notch spirits over the years. When it happens I return to the shop for a replacement. Of course that's hard to do with a gift.
