Other tasty African treats - Matoke?

Does anyone know if there is anywhere to try Matoke or other Ugandan specialties in the bay area?

    I see a Nigerian Yam Festival at St. John the Baptist, but no Ugandan Yam fest.

      Your right. Never mind. Never answer these things before a cup of coffee. For all I know there are thriving Ugandan communities out there. Sorry for the confusion.

      Hmm... The Ugandan Yam Festival. That sounds like a must. Do you know when it's happening this year? Was it fun last year?

        Ugandan is difficult. There was a place in Oakland that closed. About the only thing that I know of is the Ugandan Yam Festival at St. John the Baptist Church ... a once a year fall event.

        I went last year and asked the Ugandan people at the festival for restaurant recommendations and came up blank. Hope someone on the board has some info.
