Restaurants near RDU
I have some friends coming in to the airport on Friday, but they one is coming in at 7pm and another at 11pm, so I'd like to find a good place with any type of food where we could eat well and kill time until the later flight without having to drive too far away from the Raleigh-Durham airport. Less expensive is always better, thanks for your suggestions.

Serena Restaurant and Bar on Miami Blvd (www.serena-rtp.com) is 1) nearby to RDU airport 2) very good food 3) good beer 4) great cocktails 5) free open wireless 6) smoke free.
Cons: kitchen closes at 9pm and I hear they may close early on Friday the 1st because of the holiday weekend so call ahead.

You might consider the Capital City Chop House for the convenience factor -- it is right next to the airport and is pretty comfortable.
They have a website that is not very informative but does have contact info: http://chophousesofnc.com/capitalcity....

There is always Angus Barn. Sit up in the turkey lounge and snack on some oysters or ribs. They have an excellent steak sandwich on the bar menu. You can of course sit down to a full meal in the dining room, but reservations would be required. I am fan of babymoon and Carmen's. I would also recommend Serena near Page Rd. and 55. American and Spanish fare that is quite affordable. Highly recommend the stuffed peppers.

You've got Hooters & the Texas Roadhouse right down the road. Okay, just kidding, but in all honesty, I wouldn't recommend Babymoon either, as much as I've wanted to like it. I've been there maybe 5 times, and never been too happy. There are about 500 things on the menu though, so maybe there's a gem buried within. They also have booze, and a nice patio. Oh, they're not exactly inexpensive either.
Carmen's is pricey, especially for the quality. Skip it.
Not sure if Neomonde would be open during your hours, but they do have a website, so check it out before going.
I'm with HSH on 9N9, and if you're willing to make that very easy drive, I'd also highly recommend Tower India, for some of the best South Indian food in the Triangle (next to Udipi).

I would go to either Babymoon or Carmens's. Both are close.
