Taiwanese Food in NYC

My wife and i had to give up our car and it's no longer easy for us to get to Flushing on a regular basis. Is there anywhere in the city we can satisfy our taiwanese food cravings? I've been to May Wah and was not overly impressed. Quickly serves a decent rendition of taiwanese style fried chicken nuggets. But i'd love to know if we're missing anywhere, particularly that serves street food type stuff...

Thanks,

The Fat Dumplin'

  1. The only Taiwnese place in Chinatown is Sogo (Mott). I don't know if it's still there but they do an average rendition of most things. Definitely nothing like Flushing.

    1. Have you tried Jobee's Orient on Howard? It came up a couple years ago: http://www.chowhound.com/topics/show/...

      1. From the May Wah post, Excellent Pork Chop House is also Taiwanese. Its on Doyer Street in Chinatown.
