Can't remember the name....

  • 3

Hey,
I moved away from toronto 10 years ago. While on vacation with a buddie we got to talking about home and the restaurant scene. For the life of me I can't remember the name of a place, and it's killing em.
This was on Adelaide street and back in my dad's day, and well into the early 80's it was THE place that the bankers and the who's who went. I think it was a persons name, maybe starting with G but nothing comes to mind. Back in the mid 90's it re-opened with a new chef.

I can't sleep! any help you can give would be great.

thanks

  1. Winston's. Part of a bygone era when John Turner had his own table

    1. There are a couple of sections in Chefdb.com that can help with such questions. One is an advanced search page: http://www.chefdb.com/searchform.php

The other is found in the main page where you can browse by opening decade: http://www.chefdb.com/

When searching for material on places where my girlfriends & I went when we were teenagers, I even found some old posters under the print ad section. It can really take you back. Winston's is, naturally, there: http://www.chefdb.com/paper.php

      1. Winstons!!
        yep that is it...

        thanks
