Found ourselves at the InterContinental hotel last week. The Bugis Village Market just around the corner was a treasure. Favorites were vendor specializing in rojak salad- a savory sweet treat of thin sliced pineapple, green apple, cucumber & puffy fritters dressed to order with the sweet/tart dressing including chili & peanuts. Around the corner the rice + 3 for $2.50 Singapore dollars had the option of one of the best bitter melon stir fries I have encountered (w/ fermented black beans). The overall winner though was the watermelon juice- pure sweet refreshing watermelon in a cup! (we did finish the second cup at the hotel with lots of ice)- heaven in a cup.
