i've tried the trader joe's pizza dough and other hounds have told me to get them at local pizza places.... where do they have the best pizza dough that will sell just the dough to me?

Make your own, if you have a Kitchen aid you can bang out a couple or rounds in no time at all and throw some in the freezer. Actually easier than going to the store. And you can enjoy some wine while it is rising

I often make my own, but Bay Cities in Santa Monica had pizza dough rounds imported from italy and frozen that we tried out on the grill. They were really really good. (btw - they had two kinds - a thicker crust and a thininer. We got the thin).

I'll 2nd the 3 thoughts mentioned so far...

Trader Joe's is surprisingly good, convenient, portioned.

Claro's is my go-to when I don't make my own. Reasonably priced, bulk qty, and I can get other goodies as well, including Escalon 6-in-1 for deep dish pizza sauce.

Finally, if you have a favorite local pizza place, that IS your best source...just ask the manager if they will sell some dough.

How about Claro's Italian Market (they have several locations).
