Esca or BLT Fish?

Tomorrow will be out last night in NYC and need to decide between BLT Fish and Esca. Which choice do you recommend?

Thanks,

Barbara

I was impressed with the food at Esca.

Thank you for your replies. As it turned out, we dined at BLT Steak last night so that rules out BLT Fish for tonight since they appear to be quite similar in some ways. After posting my query yesterday, someone here in NYC raved about Felidia. We stopped in to have a drink before heading to BLT Steak and decided to have dinnner there tonight. Unfortunately, we are out of nights since we fly back to L.A. tomorrow.

We have dined at Le Bernardin several times on past trips and, while it is excellent, we love to try different restaurants when we travel.

You NYCers are so fortunate to live in this wonderful culinary wonderland. Restaurants where we have dined this trip:
      Chimichurri Grill
      BLT Steak
      Marseille
      Beacon
      Fleur de Sel
      Artisanal
      I Trulli
      Barbounia
      Blue Hill
      wd-50
      db Bistro moderne
      Lattanzi

And our "chowhound tour of the Lower East Side:
      The Donut Plant
      Gus's Pickles
      Yonah Schimmel’s Knish Bakery
      Katz's Deli

I'll second houston, Esca is an establishment in New York with excellent food while BLT Fish is like a new kid on the block that, sometimes, manages to make good food. I was very disappointed with BLT.

Not BLT fish, the room is cool but the food is just not that good. Esca is pretty good, had better. If you are totally in the seafood kind of mood why not try Le Bernardin? It is a bit more expensive than the others, but well worth it.
