Hey everyone, desperately need help. A friend was supposed to make faovrs for a baby shower tomorrow and wasn't able to get to it this week. So now I am trying to pull something together rather quickly. I figured making chocolates would be the easiest and quickest thinkg to do, problem is I'm still relatively new to this city and I have no idea where to get supplies. I need everything from the chocolate to the molds. Can anyone help? Thanks!

  1. Fante's (in the Italian Market, S. 9th street) has a huge selection of baking, cake, cake decorating, and candy supplies (including tons of molds). They may have some chocolate blocks as well.

For the raw supplies, Trader Joe's (22nd & Market) has a number of blocks and 1-lb and even 5-lb blocks. Caviar Assouline / Assouline & Ting has a store and the used to carry lots of wholesale-sized Valrhona chocolate and other brands, you may want to give them a call. I think they're in the NoLibs / Fishtown area now. 2050 A Richmond Street, Philadelphia, PA 19125 1 (215) 627-3000 Open 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. But they have a CC branch at Liberty Place (17th/Chestnut) with the 3-oz bars.

If you're looking for more generic quality chocolate, try Nuts To You, a couple of locations (20th N of Chestnut is one).
