Hi,

I'm a San Francisco transplant to San Jose. I was so devoted to Stella's Pastry on Columbus in North Beach--they fed my love for panna cotta. And walking home from class on Friday's was an absolute treat, because my walk would take me past Kuleto's, where I could get some cheap but amazingly good creme brulee.

But now I'm lonely in San Jose, and looking for a good dessert cafe--particularly one that will serve panna cotta and creme brulee. Any ideas?

Something along the lines of Finale Dessert Cafe in Boston would be nice. (Oh my goodness, am I glad I don't live in Boston anymore--California takes the cake when it comes to food).

Thanks,
Lonely

I don't know particularly about creme brulee or panna cotta, but Flour Flower (or is it Flower Flour) on Willow Street has wonderful pastries and good coffee. I don't think it's a night-time venue, however. There's also a French style bakery in Santana Row (I think it's called Cocolat). Again, I don't remember if they have those particular things, but they have some pretty tasty desserts. And, although it's essentially a dinner place, bear in mind that 71 St. Peter has great creme brulee on the menu.
