Yummy Convenient Frozen Lunch

I just finished eating a frozen Indian Palak Paneer from Amy's Organic Cuisine: http://www.amys.com/products/category....
It hit the spot perfectly for it's purpose - convenient, relatively healthy, portable lunch at my desk.
I have tried other products from this line and have enjoyed them as well.

Safeway has it. As does Wal-mart. Go figure.

Is Amy's the brand everyone talks about from Trader Joe's? Or am I thinking Tasty Bites?

I'm not sure it it's the one sold at Trader Joe's. In T.O. I can buy it at most of the bigger grocery stores - Loblaws or Sobey's. I'm sure Whole Foods would carry it or the indie health shops (like Noah's). Oh, I also get it at Shopper's Drug Mart. Some of the bigger ones have a "healthy food" section.

That is so funny! When I read your header, I thought you were going to be ASKING for suggestions for tasty frozen meals, and I was going to respond with Amy's Palek Paneer, which I just tried about a week ago and thought was excellent for what it was. It was about the best tasting frozen meal I can remember eating.

I also tried this for the first time last week and I agree that it was quite tasty for a frozen meal. I have another Amy's meal (I think it's the Indian Mattar Paneer) in the freezer for one of those non-leftover days.

I tried the samosa wrap and wasn't as impressed with them, probably because I didn't have anything to dip it in and it seemed rather dry. I missed the sauces they serve with regular samosas at Indian restaurants.

I just worry about the incredibly high salt content of every frozen meal I've ever seen. I think the Amy's meals have 28% of the RDA. I don't use too much salt in my cooking, so as long as I make dinner the night I eat the frozen meal my salt intake won't be too high.

I don't add a lot of salt to my cooking generally either, but I don't eat the frozen meals that often. So, in moderation, on a non-leftover day, I think it's still a relatively healthier meal.
I haven't tried the samosa wrap. I have tried the bean and cheese burrito. Pretty good, but also requires salsa.

The canned "chicken" soup is really good.

The Amy's meal was definitely the most filling frozen meal I've ever had (and the tastiest) so you're right - definitely a good meal choice.

I didn't know Amy's made canned soup. I'll have to see if my grocery store carries it.
