Solo dining in Cobble Hill area?

cazique Aug 24, 2006 03:01 PM

I may do a dinner out by myself on Thursday or Friday night - looking for something in the Heights/Hill/Gardens area (maybe a little farther out towards Park Slope but only far enough to walk), not too pricey but amenable to leftovers so I could order a couple of things and make it last two days. Suggestions?

If you like sushi, I recommend the bar at Cube 63.

Taku. They have bar seating where the chefs cook, too. The have a variety of japanese-american plates and decent portions. The omakase is a lot of food, but a good value! You can request/lean them towards things you like, too. Hardly had room for the udon, so took it home - it was even better reheated the next day. The fried sesame shrimp are so good that I doubt you will be a able to save any for the next night.
Everything I have had was excellent, you couldn't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Passed Taku this AM. Sign says that they are closed until the middle of September.

I'd give Bocca Lupa (sp?) a try. The new italian place on the corner of Henry and Warren. Sitting at the bar is pleasant experience and you could order a variety of small things plates to taste a real variety of things.

Search this board for "henry" and "warren" and you'll see write-ups.

          What about Waterfalls?
