Where to eat in Cary, NC?

My husband and I are in town for a wedding this weekend, but we expect to have either Friday or Saturday to ourselves. Any suggestions for good food. Regional or American cuisine is what we're looking for.

I would ditch the regional or American food and try Udupi, a Indian vegetarian restaurant specializing in dosai that is a favorite of the list, or my personal favorite in the area.

I agree with the above advice. The best stuff in town are the small ethnic restaurants, and Udupi is a very good one.

That said, if you have your heart set on regional/American food, I would recommend Maximilian's. Their food is probably more properly classified as fusion, with certain elements of Asian, Carribean, Spanish and Italian, but it is accessible enough to offer several dishes that might fit the bill. They often have a long list of specials which are quite interesting. Good luck.

Open for lunch and breakfast on Friday and Saturday you might like Cindy's House on Chatham, close to downtown. Good food, reasonable priced. The link is to a copy of their menu from a few months ago. The shrimp and grits and the garlic grilled London broil are my favorite menu items. If they have it the shrimp bisque is also good.

Another place that you might like if you are looking for American style food is the Triangle Grill. They have sandwiches, seafood, pasta, etc. Cioppino, which was a special and shrimp cocktail have been recent favorites. They are new, locally owned and working hard to bring good, moderately priced food to the area. Their useless web site, except for address and phone number is
