Girls' night out

Hi everyone,
I am looking for suggestions for a great girls' night out in Manhattan. We would all be coming in from the 'burbs and would like to go somewhere special. Not crazy expensive, but doesn't have to be cheap either. We are all people who work in some part of the restaurant industry...so the musts are
~good service
~great food
~cool, but not "too cool for school" atmosphere
~good wine and bevs

The wine bar also offers "aperitivo" Tuesday through Friday from 5pm to 7pm, featuring three flights and unlimited antipasti for $15.

Note that The Orchard is still byob (I think). The Orchard's sister restaurants Apizz and Peasant have liquor licenses and are also wonderful.

I love Tia Pol but I'm not sure sitting on those stools is what you'd be looking for if you want to hang out and shmooze. Agave in the Village works for groups. Food is really good and so are the drinks. They seem to cater to large parties.

Rememember it is only groups that can reserve the large tables in back. Only way I know of to avoid the stools.

If there are six or more of you, you could make a reservation at Tia Pol and avoid the wait. Amazing tapas and really fun to share with a group. Their wine list is awesome too as is their red and white sangria. Enjoy!
