Have a couple of friends coming into the city next week and Acquerello is the restaurant they want to attend. We haven't been there in a couple of years. Is it still as good as it was? Recommendations for dishes to order.

One of my favorite restaurants in town. It is the only high-end dining in the city that Mr. Norjah and I have gone back to more than a few times.

Thier pasta and seafood preparations are stellar. We always get the prix fixe with wine. The only time I wouldn't get the prix fixe is if they didn't have much fish on it.

You will be taken care of very well by host and co-owner Giancarlo and the wonderful experience of Chef Suzette Gresham's food. Robert's advice of the prix fixe (Chef Tasting Menu) with wine parings is the way to go. Parking is across the street.

Lou, it definitely is. Just ask our friend in Sonoma or T&T in Boston. Unfortunately, their online menu isn't up-to-date so I can't help on that front. One thing they will do is allow diners to pick out 4 pasta selections and each diner will get a plate which has 4 distinct places to put a mini-portion of each pasta. The only restriction is that the entire table has to agree on which 4. No mixing and matching.

4 pasta selections. The plate used has four distinct sections. A friend called it the Acquerello Bento Box. ;-)

One not-so-obvious thing I like about it is getting just the right portion of the foie/black truffle-sauced pasta. That dish is so rich, 2-3 bites is plenty for me.
