Rennetless pizza in NYC?

I'm craving a fantastic crust with bubbling, animal-rennet-less! cheese. I can only find "Viva Cafe" in NYC, and I couldn't get along well with their crusts.

Anyone know of any by the slice places or others that serve rennetless cheese? I've heard the founder of Una Pizza Napoletana is a vegetarian, but can't confirm on the cheese.

Help me satisfy this craving please!

  1. Una Pizza Napoletana is DEFINITELY not rennetless - that is 100% delicious animal-filled cheesy awesomeness. A lot of people are veggies and still eat cheese--I was for several years. There are only a smattering of vegan restaurants in the city and few of them offer pizza--Viva is probably the only way to go. I think they do offer other crusts--you just have to buy a whole pie.

    1. Perhaps your best bet is to ask this question on the Kosher board as many of the participants are from NYC. Kosher pizza has no rennet as you cannot mix milk and meat.

      1. Try Slice on the Upper East Side-- never been, but I know they offer rice cheese, vegan cheese, soy cheese, etc.

        1. Am I the only one who reat the title of this thread as -

          "Relentless Pizza in NYC?"
