Little India - best place to buy groceries?

Sweet Pea Aug 23, 2006 05:42 PM

I'm feeling the urge to try out a few Indian recipes I've got, and live fairly close to Little India, but there are so many options for grocery shopping there. What's the best place for spices/fresh Indian ingredients?

Iqbal grocery is somewhat nearby. Very fresh and hard to get veg and fruit. Fantastic meats. Try the restaurant next door if your there!

B&J Supermarket has tonnes of choice - yummy Samosas, too.

B+J is the most modern and clean. Also, they have a huge selection of Indian desserts in the front. The samosas and pakoras are fairly cheap. Samosas 3/$1

The best place IMO is Kohinoor Foods, 1438 Gerrard St E.
          b/w Greenwood and Coxwell.
          Good luck!
