huron village take out and casual spots

kittychow Aug 23, 2006 03:46 PM

New neighborhood and no idea where to eat. I'm in Cambridge between Huron Ave. and Mt. Auburn St. I'm looking for casual spots, take out joints and delivery places. Restaurants close to the Watertown/Cambridge line. I'm familiar with the Deluxe Town Diner and Celebrity and Donahue's had a surprisingly good burgers. I'm sure I'm missing lots little treasures in the area. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Organtique on Huron is a good and inexpensive Jamaican place on Huron Ave near Lexington. Nice jerk chicken and nicer people. Armando's (Huron and Concord) is good for pizza. Also on this corner is Punchinella which is underrated Italian usually with lots of daily specials. On the Watertown side, Celebrity pizza (soft serve ice cream and fried clams have received some buzz here) and the Armenian food stores (Sevan, Arax, Massis) are great. Further down Mt Auburn, Sushi 21 is a family favorite and around the corner, Casa de Pedro (Venezuelan), Molana (Persian) and Stellina (Italian). Welcome and happy eating.
