Wingstop in Valencia / Santa Clarita [Moved from L.A. board]

Wanting to find out what the fuss was about for this place, we finally bit the bait. It was grand opening week and the place had a very living room feeling (which is good for wings).

We ordered 10 wings (half original hot/half cajun), side of cole slaw, beans, french fries, and a bottle of coors light for under $15... what could beat that? The fries were great, as were the slaw and beans. I don't know if it's just me or if it is the general consensus but the wings were overly sauced and very salty. And the cajun (not quite cajun) just tasted like some spiced seasoning without any real flavors that are cajun... hardly award winning.

The owner came by after we were done and asked how the food was, as true chowhounders we were very blunt and told him everything was over-sauced and next time we'll just get it dry.

One thing is for some reason they take forever for the food to come out, I think we waited 15 minutes when we were the only people in line. So you might want to think about ordering ahead. Also they're open until midnight so any late night hankerings for wings this is the place to go. Overall this place is good and I would need to go once more to see if it's a keeper. Hopefully the service gets better as they work out the kinks after their grand-opening week.

  1. Wingstop ROCKS! And yes, they do take forever to get the food out and yes, it IS heavily sauced. But, Iike the hot honey-teryaki and the dry garlic-parmesan. For the price, you can't beat them!
