Healdsburg to Santa Rosa Dinner Tonight

Bodegadawg Aug 22, 2006 07:15 PM

We are going to a wine tasting this evening in Healdsburg. Afterwards we will be travelling to Sebastopol. Where in Healdsburg can we eat dinner? Not into Cyrus, or any of the other "fancy" places, you have any suggestions? Thank you

Really well, thanks. We ate at Zin For starters we had a cone of frites, but they weren't frites they were green beans in a beer batter served with a really deligtful sort of green mustard. There was a three tomato salad with a fried green tomato, slicing tomato and cherry tomatoes. Nice vinaigrette on the tomatoes. Figs in a blanket were um... interesting. Figs, prosciutto and gorgonzola were in a pastry wrapping served with a zinfandel reduction.
I had braised short ribs again in a zin reduction served on the plate with a corn peppers and maybe lima beans (think succotash) this was the best plate of the evening. We ordered the pork chop after hearing about the brining process. If you have to do all that to a pork chop it should be better.
A delicious bottle of Enkidu Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, very charming and correct service, and we were happy.

Their green beans are really excellent.
