New Restaurant Critic at PHX New Times [moved from Southwest board]

For the past four weeks, the weekly restaurant review in the Phoenix New Times has been written by Michele Laudig rather than Stephen Lemons. From my point of view, this has been a welcome change. While I often agreed with Lemons' reviews, I found his writing style so unpleasant that I began to tune him out. Laudig's reviews seem far more readable and civil than her predecessor's. On the other hand, I've heard my wife and her friend complain that Laudig is too easily pleased. So far, she's reviewed three out of four restaurants favorably, but her latest review of a downtown dance club attempting to double as a restaurant was strongly unfavorable and enhanced her credibility with me.
I'd be interested in hearing other reactions to this apparent change in reviewers. Reviews by both authors are available at the following address:
I noticed that.
Lemmons is such a crowd fave, I wonder what happened.
Actually, I have heard good things about Palazzo(the dance club wannabe restaurant).
little silly stevie lemons, lets talk about the rest. or the food ,not stevie & his posse or his way over the top stories (as told to Stephen Lemons) new problem in the last few years the writers want to be the story instead of just covering the event.i think michele will find her niche and do fine
