Sweet Sam's brownies?

When Amtrak reorganized its food-car suppliers a year or two ago, the delicious, walnut-crammed Sweet Sam's brownies stopped being available. Does anyone know where I can find them for sale in New York?

The brownies are not labeled, so you may want to ask someone knowledgeable at the counter about them. They have a lot of walnuts on top and are dense and chocolately. Not gooey, and not excessively sweet.

I was able to reach them through a phone number on their website, and they gave me the names of several stores on Bway where their things are sold. I found the brownies at a reasonable price at one of these stores

To my surprise, I later found a grocery much closer to me that also carries them, but had not been on Sweet Sams' list.

Can you name some of the places you've found that sells Sweet Sam's? I'm interested to see what it's about.

Sweet Sam's doesn't currently seem to sell directly to consumers, but their products are sold under private labels throughout NYC and via gourmet chains and distributors in other parts of the country as well. They've always seemed to operate under the radar, and I don't recall where I've seen their brownies lately, but I see they do at least have some basic contact information on their website now - http://www.sweetsams.com/

Sweet Sam's cookies are cakes are made in the Bronx by a company called David Grogan...you should be able to call them and find out where you can get them in Manhattan
