Jim Leff on Public Radio 8/21 (and podcast)

I was on a Chowish mission Saturday to find and eat the infamous "Porno Burrito" in Los Angeles. I was chowing down on this flaccid wonder and listening to KPCC, my local NPR station on my Walkman when Chow-founder Jim Leff, of all people, came on the radio. The program was "Weekend America", an NPR show I always listen to every weekend. This segment looked at county fairs, and said Leff was starting out on a road trip built around such fairs, I assume with Chowish intentions. Friday he was at the Delaware County Fair in Walton, New York. Hear him decry "carny food" and praise "pancake tents". Follow the link and listen on-line, it's about 4 minutes long. Hey Jim, how were the "homemade kettle potato chips with bacon bits"? I'm looking forward to more reports from the road!

    Thanks, Andrew.

I'm going to be reporting very very extensively. There are some hurdles before we can start playing my reports here, so there'll be a lag. There'll be announcements and stuff when the coverage starts.

The latest carnie treat is potato ribbons. it looks like chips, but they're all attached together, like paper boats. I got a dynamite photo, watch for it when coverage starts.
