On my last visit to Montreal, I noticed that Il Piatto della Nonna has left St. Viateur. I did a search on chowhound but have not found any posts commenting on what I hope is just the restaurant's relocation. If Nonna has indeed moved, I would be very grateful to find out where I can find her.

  1. I did not know that they had altogether closed the St-Viateur location. I do know that they had opened a second location on St-Laurent, just north of Fairmount. I believe that some time back, they used to have a resto on St-Denis as well (at least, it was owned by a relation of the family) but I'm not sure if that still exists. Finally, if i'm not mistaken, the excellent sandwich house/café on Fairmount & Clark (Mille Grazie) is also related to the same owners.

Yes, the old St-Viateur location is a new bistro whose name escapes me. Nonna's (which looks identical to the original location to my eye) is now at 5171 St-Laurent (514-843-6069).

thanks so much to both of you. i tend to spend a lot of time in that general area when in Montreal, and was looking forward to an inexpensive and fun dinner there.

    2. The new location is Les deux singes de Montarvie
