Pastalina's in Medford - review

My fiancée and I went to Pastalina's (spelled Pastalenas in some web sources) on Salem Street in Medford for the first time last night and loved it! Pastalina's is a fantastic Italian restaurant with very affordable dishes (entrees $10-14, higher for the specials) and a very friendly staff.

We started with an antipasto of fresh cucumbers, tomatoes and lettuce with prosciutto, mozzarella and olives then tried two of their specials: the lobster ravioli with pink sauce special and the veal cordon bleu in a mushroom white wine sauce (with pasta in red sauce on the side). A fresh cannoli on the house was delivered at the end of our meal. All was delicious and of very high quality.

They don't have a liquor license but you can bring your own wine (and have a liquor store across the street). Also, the dining room is a little run down but has that hidden gem feel at the same time. Highly recommended if you don't get hung up on the frills of more expensive restaurants.

Agreed. Pastalina's has delicious food, much tastier than some of the restaurants in the North End. It's nice to be able to see them making pasta in the kitchen. Service is a little slow, however, so my friends and I often opt for take out.
