"Emack & Bolio's" Ice Cream

Is it really as good as they say?

Comparable to "Haagen-Dazs"/"Ben & Jerry's"/"Edy's"/"Baskin-Robbins" ?

I prefer Sedutto's to any you mentioned. Some Ben & Jerry's can be great with all the ingredients but then it isn't about the ice cream, is it?

Emack & Bolio make a decent pistachio but it has way too much sugar in it. I like the pistachio from Beanocchio's on York Ave.

I think their flavors are really hit-or-miss, but as long as you ask for a taste first I think you'll find something delicious. Ironically, I think their biggest strength is their ludicrously delicious assortment of excessively-adorned waffle cones--they're smothered in everything one could ever ask for.

I think this is very overrated ice cream. Maybe I have gotten the wrong flavors, but I don't see why some people rave over this. I think Ben and Jerry's is much better.

I posted above and I agree. I like Ben and Jerry's flavor ideas, but find Haagen Dazs smoother, and therefore more pleasant. I happen to have a life-long love affair with B&R Rocky Road. Sometimes I prefer ice creams with lower levels of butterfat, and Rocky Road is just perfection.

I like but don't love it, and find it way overpriced for what it is. The toppings especially are outrageously priced.

I think it is excellent and a great variety of flavors. The hot fudge is amazing!

Fabulous ice cream! Can't imagine finding anything better that comes in a cone other than some gelato you might get in Little Italy.

Definitely better, but still not great in its own right. Wish there were better traditional ice cream in NY...
