Brunch in Hollywood area?
I just moved to the Hollywood/Dania Beach area and I am looking for a good place for Sunday brunch. Last Sunday I went to Josh's Organic Market and I would like to go again tomorrow. Is there a good breakfast/brunch place close to Josh's? Also would like suggestions for a good dinner tomorrow night. Maybe on the water or close to Young circle...will have my 1 year old son with me, so only kid friendly recs please.
Thank you for the recs. I will definitely check out the breakfast places soon. I had been wondering about Chinatopia, so thanks for answering that question...I think they deliver. I've been dying to try Le Tub, but I don't think they are very kid friendly. We went last week for dinner at about 7:30. We asked for a high chair for our son...and the server told me very rudely that they don't have high chairs. She then handed me a menu, which said right on the front "preferably no children after 8 p.m." We didn't feel comfortable holding our son through dinner, so we left.
Josh's is right on the broadwalk behind the Ramada, I think. He had great organic fruits and vegetables...reasonably priced too. I think he's there every Sunday from 9:00 to 5:00??
Is there a good place to buy fresh seafood around here?
There was a seafood place on Federal, but they closed. We usually go to Whole Foods in Aventura or Delaware Chicken Farm on 441 in Hollywood. There is also Captain Ed's on Federal in Ft. Lauderdale, but check to make sure they have reopened. They were remodeling. I did know about Josh's, but I didn't know that was the name. For a bit of a ride, there's also good produce (but not organic) at Batten Farms in Davie. And yes, Chinatopia does deliver. We have never had them do it, but friends tell me it can take a while, so order in advance. If I can help with any other local food/restaurant questions, I would be more than happy.
Welcome to the neighborhood! We like Coral Rose on Harrison right off the Circle for breakfast, but don't go today. It seems they had a carpet/flood incident and it smells awful inside. Hopefully, it will be fixed soon. Other than Coral Rose, we always wind up going to Aventura to Bagel Cove for Sunday breakfast. The only other suggestion is on Las Olas (a 10 minute drive) to the crepe place. They have delicious crepes, pancakes and egg dishes. As far as dinner, we've been taking our grandson to Flicker Light on the Intracoastal since he was a baby and it's still his favorite place to go. We sit on the water and he's always entertained by the boats. Right down the street, also on the water, is Le Tub. Great burgers and a fun place. If you like Chinese, Chinatopia on the Circle is very good. The owners are wonderful people and always have "specials" (food not on the menu), but you have to ask. They're very accomodating.
And now for the burning question: Where is Josh's Organic Market and how come I haven't heard about it?
