In Search Of...Osso Bucco

I'm taking my boyfriend out for his birthday next week and he loves osso bucco (the lamb variety). He loved the one at Vert's but it's no longer on their menu. Any other places in the Hollywood, Melrose, Fairfax area that serve this dish? Thanks!

Tanino's on Westwood Blvd. has one of the best Osso Bucco's I've ever had. The one I had was veal but they also do a lamb version.

Not sure if it's still on the menu, but I really liked Locanda Veneta's Osso Bucco.

      I remember also liking Orso's.

Girasole on Larchmont has amazing Osso Bucco - we call it AWESOMEBUCCO. On occassion it is veal instead of lamb (not sure if that's seasonal or just random), so you might want to give them a call.

And if you go share the spinach gnocci for a starter with sage butter sauce, and end the meal with panna cotta. You will be rolling out, but it will be one of the best meals you've had in LA.

I really like the Osso Buoco at Ca del Sole in Universal City/North Hollywood, just a hop, skip and a jump from Hollywood. Tender and moist meat falling off the bone with citrus risotto/gremolata...nice portion of marrow...add one of the really nice salads and it's a great meal.

I second the nomination on CA del Sol. I had the veal version and it was outstanding.
