The Park Avenue Country Club fits the bill. Plush and with pretty good food for it's type.

I think ESPN zone is pretty fun, actually. The biggest negative is the location in Times Square.

I like Kinsale Tavern on 93rd/3rd. They actually have great food (try the black pudding--it's delicious!) and a wide selection of beers on tap. Friendly bartenders, friendly waitresses, and the TVs are always playing sports programming.
