If you're in the East Cillage, try Croxley on Ave B btwn 2nd & 3rd...
The Park Avenue Country Club fits the bill. Plush and with pretty good food for it's type. http://parkavenuecountryclub.com/
Bounce on 73rd and 2ndTonic (2nd floor) - 29th and third

I like Kinsale Tavern on 93rd/3rd. They actually have great food (try the black pudding--it's delicious!) and a wide selection of beers on tap. Friendly bartenders, friendly waitresses, and the TVs are always playing sports programming.
Great rec, thanks.
