Best Chicken Taquito in LA, by far........

EL TEPAYAC is my new favorite Chicken Taquito Place(5.50). Having gone there for years I was always distracted by the Killer Hollenbeck Chicken Burrito(6.55) which is fabulous also.
You will not believe the quality of FRESH Guacamole on top of their Chicken taquitos, no where else I've ever been is even close.

  1. ITA Russ!! I dream about that Chicken Taquito and the mountain of Guac they serve atop... Hmmm!! :)

The beef one though, I think is a little sketchy... LOL! :)

I lived your dream for breakfast this morning. Maybe I'll re-visit tomorrow just for confirmation?

darn you... thanks to this post I had the chicken Taquitos at Don Felix in Mar Vista... Ugh... Not even close... We'll be headed down there next week... P. has not know the grandure of what is El Tepayac....

    2. Loteria at the Farmer's Market has excellent chicken taquitos. Crunchy on the outside, lots of tender chicken on the inside. Also served with guac, but not enough...

I think a quick trip to ET will be very helpful about your shortage of Guacamole. After you finish their taquito's you'll still have enough Guac to take home for a small party that night. The most Guac of any place I've ever been, you won't believe it?

        2. Just had 2 of them for lunch...good stuff. Its all white meat chicken inside. They are supergenerous with the guacamole too...easily enough for 4 taquitos.

          1. I've never had the taquitos at El Tepeyac. How do these compare with Pepe's? They are my current favorite but beef-only, and also come with big heap of fresh, chunky guacamole.

Never been to Pepe's, but I like El Tepeyac's chicken ones better than Ciro's beef flautas down the street, which is supposedly their specialty.

I agree... El Tepeyac's Chicken Taquitos (Actually they are more like flautas with how big they are!) blow Ciros out of the water! :)

Been to Pepe's in Downey and Placentia , NOT EVEN CLOSE!
El Tepeyac gives you more REAL Guac per order, than Pepe's gives out with 10 orders.

              3. It is time to visit El Tepeyac again! I've only been to the original Pepe's in Alhambra and their taquitos are served under a large mound of freshly made, chunky guacamole.

Large Mound of Guacamole is nice but El Tepeyac gives you a MOUNTAIN of Guac and much better Taquito's.

                2. Not having planned ahead for an office lunch, I once ordered two dozen taquitos-half beef and half chiken-and headed over the bridge to pick them up. When the food arrived, it seemed as if there were no taquitos under the guacamole, cheese and lettuce. Funny how Ciro's gets the fame for the flautas, but El Tep across the street blows them out of the water.

                  1. How do they compare to Ciro's?
