New Orleans family restaurant in Downtown Brooklyn

About a year ago I found this wonderful, small, family-owned and operated restaurant around Flatbush Avenue, close to the Brooklyn Museum, that had the best gumbo I've ever tried. And the main courses were awesome too. I just don't remember the name or exact address. I hope someone can help me out.

  1. Stan's Place? At 411 Atlantic.

    1. Hmmmm. Maybe the Prospect Cafe was serving gumbo. It could have been the Haitian place as well. It's right on Flatbush by Prospect Place or St. Marks, I forget the name. After the Flatbush and 8th Avenue intersection there aren't any more restaurants until you hit Lincoln Rd., unless you want to count Wendy's and Popey's on Empire Blvd. Actually, I wonder if it was the chicken place tha was on the corner of Prospect and Flatbush. I believe they were family owned and from the south. They shut down not too long ago
