Early Breakfast in Manhattan

Bzdhkap Aug 16, 2006 11:28 AM

Looking for suggestions for places in Manhattan that would be open on weekdays early in the morning, (between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m.)for breakfast. Nothing fancy is necessary.

Milk 'N Honey is open at 7am. Good supervision and high standards of kashruth, Halab (Cholov) & Path Yisrael, Kemach Yashan . It appears they're completely renovated as well.

Bagels and company on W 38th; I don't think the others are open that early.

Kossar's Bialys or the Doughnut Plant on Grand Street.
The Waverly Diner, on 6th in the West Village. Good breakfasts.
For a change, try any number of places in Chinatown serving good
pork buns, combinations and strong coffee. MeiLei Wah on Bayard,
Chatham in Chatham Square, seemingly hundreds of other
bakeries and coffee shops in the Chath.Square/East Broadway area.

I seriously doubt that, Marty. Good nonetheless.

Marty, sorry, I missed the Kosher heading. I'm pretty sure that Kossar's is kosher, though. And I can vouche for Gertel's Bakery on Hester as well. Good coffee. Also, if you're into bakery items for breakfast, Moishe's, on 2nd Avenue near the corner of 9th, serve up some excellent hamentashen. Sorry again. P.

Gertels is no longer there. The only bakery on the LES is the one next to Kossars.

It's for someone who drives from 100th Street and 5th Avenue, to the Brooklyn Bridge during these early morning hours. They can vary their route a little depending upon where the restaurant/coffee shop/bagel place is located.
