Looking for suggestions for places in Manhattan that would be open on weekdays early in the morning, (between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m.)for breakfast. Nothing fancy is necessary.
Thanks!

  1. Which part of Manhattan are you looking for a place to eat?

    1. It's for someone who drives from 100th Street and 5th Avenue, to the Brooklyn Bridge during these early morning hours. They can vary their route a little depending upon where the restaurant/coffee shop/bagel place is located.

      1. Bagels & Co on 75th and York?

        1. La Bagel
          15th St & 1st Avenue
          (212) 388-9292 check hashgacha

also Circa 22 West 33rd opens at 7 AM OU

          1. Try H & H Bagels (Kramer worked there)
            2239 Broadway (near 80th St.)

            1. Kossar's Bialys or the Doughnut Plant on Grand Street.
The Waverly Diner, on 6th in the West Village. Good breakfasts.
For a change, try any number of places in Chinatown serving good
pork buns, combinations and strong coffee. MeiLei Wah on Bayard,
Chatham in Chatham Square, seemingly hundreds of other
bakeries and coffee shops in the Chath.Square/East Broadway area.

                Kosher pork buns??

                1. re: MartyB

I seriously doubt that, Marty. Good nonetheless.

                  1. re: Polecat

Marty, sorry, I missed the Kosher heading. I'm pretty sure that Kossar's is kosher, though. And I can vouche for Gertel's Bakery on Hester as well. Good coffee. Also, if you're into bakery items for breakfast, Moishe's, on 2nd Avenue near the corner of 9th, serve up some excellent hamentashen. Sorry again. P.

                    1. re: Polecat

Gertels is no longer there. The only bakery on the LES is the one next to Kossars.

              2. Bagels and company on W 38th; I don't think the others are open that early.

                1. Milk 'N Honey is open at 7am. Good supervision and high standards of kashruth, Halab (Cholov) & Path Yisrael, Kemach Yashan . It appears they're completely renovated as well.

                  1. The Vegetable Garden Dairy Restaurant and Caterers is open early for breakfast.
