Sacramento - State Fair Food!

I attended last weekend and was happy to find a new food vendor!
Red Rooster Waffles! Made to order Belgium waffles with your choice of toppings. I chose the apricot topping which was made purely from the fruit - I also tried a taste of the chocolate which was wonderful as well! They are by the Sky Coaster.
Most disgusting addition has to be a chicken sandwich on a Krispy Kreme Donut bun......

You made me sad that we're going to miss the fair this year. I really want some original State Fair tacos. Mmm... overpriced potato and ground beef in a greasy corn tortilla.

I'm going tomorrow. Looking for good State Fair junk food. I'll find it.

Sorry we missed you Melly. I didn't see your post until we got back. We got there at 10:30 hoping to miss the crowds. We missed them alright, they didn't open until noon today. If you're going check the times, they didn't even open last monday. We had fish and chips, BBQ sandwitch and a BBQ'd polish with sauted peppers and onion. It seemed kinda italian. I was all pretty ok. Didn't do anything crazy like the donut burger.

Do they have the Deep Fried Twinkies I saw at the MidCoast Fair in Paso Robles? It doesn't sink any lower than that -- except they did look gooy and good!

I think the Krispy Kreme/sandwich place had fried Oreos and Twinkies.......
I've had the Twinkies before - hate to admit I enjoyed them!
