Limitations: Must be about 500 w/tax and tip but not including drinks. Must serve at least some vegetarian food. Not vile. the crowd is "disinclined" to eat Asian food.

Crispo, Le Zie, Via Emilia. Giorgio's of Gramercy might work, depending on how much food you intend to order. Craftbar might be another close call, although I don't find the food there too great.

Greek and Turkish food works well for carnivores and vegetarians.

Barbounia, on the corner of Park Av. S. & 20th St., serves very good Greek food in a soaring, splashy space.

Turkish Kitchen, on 3rd Av., b/t 27th & 28th Sts., is a short walk from the Union Square/Flatiron area. Excellent food and very attractive surroundings.

Both of these places can easily handle a group of your size, and you should be able to keep within your budgetary constraints.

Via emilia; craftbar could get pretty expensive.
