Welcome Gift

Hello,

Chowhounder from the East Coast looking for a recommendation for a restaurant in the Dallas area. My good friend and her new husband have moved from NYC to Coppell (outside Dallas?). I am hoping someone can help me track down some good food. I am looking to spend $100-150. They enjoy Mexican and Sushi. Thanks in advance!

I'm guessing that if they were fish out of water NYC transplants, they would not be living in Coppell.

Yeah, those tricky, tricky, DFW Realtors!

Sushi Sake in Richardson is an option. For Mexican, Manny's Uptown has "quality" food in a great setting.

But for NYC folks, wouldn't MiCocina in West Village be just the thing? I mean, over Manny's.

Tei Tei Robata Bar in the Knox Henderson area of Dallas, or Shinsei. For Mexican, Ciudad is nice.

How about Fuse in downtown Dallas? http://www.fusedallas.com/

It's billed as being Tex-Asian, so there's your Mexican AND Sushi. It's also very "Dallas". I'm not kidding, check it out.

Not the best food in town, but not the worst. I'm sure you'll get many more suggestions though.
