Hey guys: a couple of friends and I had a GREAT meal at Simon's Cafe on Sepulveda Blvd. in
Sherman Oaks last night. It's right across the street from the Whole Earth Market ... just south of Ventura Blvd. The food is continental with a leaning towards Moroccan. I had a lamb tangine (Sp?) that was to die for! So good. The Israeli salad was also wonderful. My pal had a shish kebab that he couldn't stop raving about, and another friend had a carrot soup that she loved! It's unfortunate, but this place doesn't seem to be drawing the crowds in ... do yourself a favor, and give it a try. The service is excellent too!

I forgot to mention the home-made hummus ... exceptional!

There's metered parking on the street. And after 6:00 it's free.

Glad you liked it! I think this place is great and the owner is sweet as can be. I think all of the restaurants in that little row never have much business which is a shame.

Is parking an issue? That's the kiss of death for a restaurant.

4515 Sepulveda Blvd., across Sepulveda from Whole Foods Mkt.
Very walkable for lunch for those working in Ventura/Sepulveda intersection. 818.783.6698.
Did you look at the wine list, and if so, what were your thoughts? Decent, usual suspects, or corkage the only way to go? Parking can be difficult on that west side of the street due to freeway construction, and hour limitations on Sepulveda, depending on time of day, meaning none from 4-6p.m.

Prices? Open for lunch? How casual?

Don't recall the exact figures, but we were all satisfied, price-wise. It wasn't expensive. They are open for lunch, and it's as casual as can be!
