source for a ca. 75lb uncooked whole pig?

Preferably organic, or naturally raised or whatever.

This item has proven harder to find than I would have thought. I've checked with Whole Foods and Flying Pigs Farm at the Greenmarket -- the latter doesn't slaughter pigs until they're at least 180 lbs.

This is for a Caja China pig roast that I'm planning in a few weeks.

Dom's on Lafayette St is a good source. Not sure they'll consider sourcing an organic pig for you.

We roasted one from Dom's two summers ago. It was delicious, but the process so grossed out the young teenagers that two of them became veggies immediately after, and haven't gone back since!

Violet Hill Farms at the Greenmarket - Saturday only generally - will set you up with a small pig. Large Black breed with very tasty fat layers.
