Hi. I'm looking for a wedding present for a friend. For my wedding, we recieved a beautifully packaged crate of three bottle of wine to enjoy on our 5th, 10th, and 25th wedding anniversaries. I'd love to find something similar, but I already checked Sherry Lehman and didn't see anything along those lines (and wasn't crazy about the look of their other packages).

Anyone have any other ideas on where to get wine (or champagne) nicely packaged for a wedding gift? Or is there a store with a wine of the month-type club that might work well too?

Call Sherry-Lehmann (www.sherry-lehmann.com) and have one of their people do something custom for you. It is far and away the most superior wine store in the city at any price point. The selection is unparalleled, and although they carry a large selection of very expensive Bordeaux, they also carry many, many bottles in the $8-15 range. I find they are generally about $1-2/bottle lower than other places in the city even on inexpensive bottles. Furthermore, they store their wine properly - the store only leaves one bottle out at a time, and retrieves your bottle from their cellar when you order it (they also have a large offsite facility in Brooklyn). Especially if you want a New York touch to your gift, this is the only way to go.

PJs wines in Inwood does wine-food baskets with D'Artagnan.

They also have a wine-of-the-month club. I just found this store and I LOVE it, the prices are fantastic and the selections very interesting.
